KEENE, N.H. - The Plymouth State University men’s cross country team won its Little East Conference (LEC) title in as many years Saturday afternoon at the Owl Athletic Complex, recording a team score of 34 points.
Plymouth State’s Mike Olson also repeated as LEC champion, as he once again took home the gold medal with his winning 8K time of 25:18.7. He led a one-two finish for the Panthers, as Jacob Gallaher placed second overall in 25:57.6. Both earned First Team all-LEC honors, as did PSU’s Dylan Flewelling for his fourth-place time of 26:37.0.
The Panthers also had a pair of Second Team all-LEC performers in Cooper O’Neill and Connor Wilcox. The placed 13th and 14th with respective times of 27:09.6 and 27:10.2.
Southern Maine (64 points) edged out UMass Dartmouth (66 points) for runner-up in the team standings. Jordan Duplessie (26:43.3) edged out teammate Cody Mathewson (26:43.6) by three-tenths of a second for fifth-place; both earned First Team all-Conference for placing in the top-seven. USM’s Jack Pecoraro finished 11th in 27:03.4 to earn Second Team honors.
Jacob Paris led the Corsairs with his third-place time of 26:09.4, while Benjamin Davignon placed eight in 26:51.3 to earned Second Team all-LEC. Also earning First Team all-LEC was Eastern Connecticut’s Jake Haddad (7th, 26:47.0), while Keene State’s Griffin Urnezis (9th, 26:52.6) and Tyler Bolaske (12th, 27:03.9), and Vermont State Castleton’s Jon Hendley (10th, 26:53.0) turned in Second Team all-LEC performances.
The LEC’s cross country teams will be back in action in November 11th with they compete at their respective NCAA Division III Regional Championships.
