LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Eastern Connecticut State University softball team is ranked No. 6 in the nation, according to this week’s edition of the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division III Poll. It was ranked eighth each of the last two weeks.
 
The Warriors improved to 20-4 overall and 3-1 in the Little East Conference (LEC) after sweeping doubleheaders against league rival UMass Dartmouth (4-0 and 5-1) and Wesleyan (7-0 and 5-0). Eastern is currently tied with Southern Maine for second place in the LEC standings, trailing only Castleton, which is 2-0 in conference play.
 
The Warriors have a pair of conference doubleheaders on tap this week, hosting Western Connecticut Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. before heading to Castleton Saturday for a 1 p.m. start.
