BOSTON - Plymouth State University captured its first-ever Little East Conference (LEC) men’s cross country championship after putting together a team total of 34 points Saturday at Franklin Park. PSU’s Michael Olson took home the individual title after crossing the finish line in 25:35.2.
The Panthers had three First Team All-LEC performers for having placed in the top-seven of the Championship. Joining Olson in that group was Jacob Gallaher, who placed third with a time of 26:17.6, and Mike Barrett, who posted a sixth-place time of 26:47.3. Connor Wilcox finished 11th in 27:02.7 and Brent Coope was 13th in 27:10.6, earning their Second-Team All-LEC for placing eighth through 14th in the field.
UMass Dartmouth was second in the team standings with 77 points, led by Steve Stromski’s fifth-place showing with a time of 26:39.2. Frank Wenner (26:53.8) and Jacob Paris (26:54.8) placed ninth and 10th at the meet.
Also posting a First Team All-LEC finish were Keene State’s Jake Pearl (second, 26:14.8), UMass Boston’s Jimmy Cannon (fourth, 26:33.0) and Rhode Island College’s Justin Dorsey (26:51.3). Turning in a Second Team All-LEC performance were Southern Maine’s Jordan Duplessie (eighth, 26:51.7) and Cody Matthewson (14th, 27:16.2), and Eastern Connecticut’s Dylan McGuire (12th, 27:08.9).
