BOSTON - Keene State College captured the 2022 Little East Conference (LEC) women’s cross country championship with a team scoring total of 33 points Saturday, giving the Owls their LEC-record 19 title. UMass Dartmouth’s Alexa Van Voorhis took home the individual title after crossing the finish line in 19:44.5.
Keene State had four runner place in the top-10 and each of the Owls’ five scoring runners were in the top-12. Maggie St. John was the runner-up in the race with her time of 19:48.7, and was closely followed by Grace Furlong who posted a third-place time of 9:51.8. Aurora Couto was seventh in 20:33.1 to round-out the First Team All-LEC performers. Anna O’Reilly (20:44.8) and Hannah Jones (21:01.3) earned Second Team All-LEC honors after placing ninth and 12th, respectively.
Eastern Connecticut State University was the runner-up in the team standings with 51 points, with a trio of top-10 finishers. Alison LeClerc (20:28.6) was a First-Team All-LEC finisher with her sixth-place finish, while Keara Fontaine (20:40.5) and Kelsey Zator (20:53.6) earned Second Team All-LEC honors by placing eighth and 10th overall.
Also earning First Team All-LEC honors were Southern Maine’s Olivia Mosca (fourth, 19:53.3) and Rhode Island College’s Haley Oliver (fifth, 19:56.00). RIC’s Amanda Hebert (11th, 20:59.8), and Eastern Connecticut’s Elisabeth Rodil (13th, 21:05.2) and Meghan Georgescu (14th, 21:10.8) were Second-Team All-LEC performers.
