Offensive Player of the Week
Alexa Price (Moultonborough, N.H.) - Senior - Setter - Plymouth State
Price was named LEC Offensive Player of the Week after averaging 11.0 assists and 3.2 digs per set in a 3-0 week for the Panthers. She dished out 40 assists and added five kills and 14 digs as PSU topped Keene State on Wednesday, and added 34 assists and 11 digs in a sweep of RIC on Saturday. The senior tallied 36 assists and seven digs as Plymouth State cruised to a non-conference win over Maine-Presque Isle.
Defensive Player of the Week
Marissa Plaza (Folsom, Calif.) - Junior - Defensive Specialist - Plymouth State
Plaza was named the LEC Defensive Player of the Week after averaging 5.30 digs per set in a 3-0 week for Plymouth State. She opened the week with 17 digs, six assists and three aces in a 3-1 win over Keene State on Wednesday. On Saturday, Plaza added another 17 digs, four aces and four assists in a sweep of RIC, followed by a match-high 19 digs to go with three assists, an ace and a kill in a sweep of Maine-Presque Isle. Her play helped limit the Owls’ offense to a .152 attack percentage, while holding the Anchorwomen to a .057 attack percentage and UMPI to .000 attack percentage.
Rookie of the Week
Kate Wade, UMass Dartmouth
Wade was named LEC Rookie of the Week after averaging 3.69 kills and 3.46 digs per set in a 4-0 week for the Corsairs. She opened the week with 15 kills and 11 digs in a 3-1 conference win over Rhode Island College, and had 14 kills with 15 digs in a 3-1 LEC triumph over Southern Maine. Wade posted a 13-kill, 12-dig effort in a non-conference sweep of Elms.
