Commissioner Cora H. Brumley has announced the appointment of Megan B. Erbes as Assistant Commissioner for the Little East Conference.

Erbes will serve as the primary communications representative for the Little East Conference, overseeing all strategic efforts in new media, website development and sports information. She will also serve as the main media contact for the league and will begin her responsibilities April 24th.

"Ms. Erbes is extraordinarily well-prepared to serve as the Little East Conference's Assistant Commissioner given her breadth of experience in both communication and administration. She possesses the outstanding technical skills and in particular, her broadcast media experience gained via the American Athletic Conference that will absolutely advance the LEC's tradition of strategic communication innovation," said Commissioner Brumley.

"I could not be more thrilled to join the Little East Conference," said Erbes. "As a former Division III student, I am honored to be given an opportunity to serve such a well-respected group of institutions and have a positive impact on our student-athletes. Hopefully, I can continue what's already been implemented by Jack Holleran and keep the Little East Conference piloted toward innovation in new media and strategic communications."

Erbes replaces Jack Holleran, who served as the LEC's first Assistant Commissioner for seven years prior to recently accepting the position of Sports Information Director at LEC member institution, University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. Holleran served under three commissioners during his tenure and was instrumental in launching the league's current website structure, social media efforts, and www.LittleEast.tv, the first online streaming forum in Division III. "Jack has been a fantastic asset to the Little East Conference for many years and I thank him for his continued support throughout the LEC's staffing transitions. He is a true gentleman," said Brumley.

For the past academic year, Erbes served as a Communications Assistant with the American Athletic Conference in Providence, R.I., where she managed all sports information, publication and media relations efforts for women's soccer, men's and women's cross country, men's and women's track and field and softball. She also served as the secondary contact for women's basketball, overseeing the primary role on an interim basis for the months of October and November. In that role, Erbes coordinated all media operations for the first American Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Media Day at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn.

Prior to joining The American, Erbes obtained her Master of Sport Administration from Belmont University in Nashville, Tenn. where she served as a graduate assistant in the Department of Fitness and Recreation. For the 2013 academic year, she was an Athletic Communications Intern with Vanderbilt University, working in feature content and website development. Erbes spent the winter and spring of 2012 with the Ohio Valley Conference, working as the primary contact for track and field and managing the league's social media content.

A 2011 graduate of Ohio Northern University, Erbes spent her undergraduate studies as a student assistant with ONU's sports information office and spent the summer of 2010 interning in Public Relations with Sporting Kansas City of MLS.
