Women's Cross Country Athletes of the Week for October 7, 2019

Runner of the Week

Lauren Perkowski (Keene State) - Senior - Plantsville, Conn.

Perkowski was named LEC Runner of the Week for the third time in 2019 after winning the 2019 Keene State College Invitational Saturday, covering her 5K home course in 18:06.1. Her time was nine seconds better than the meet's runner-up, and was 1:16 better than her closest LEC competitor. Perkowski was also named LEC Runner of the Week on September 2 and 23.

Rookie of the Week

Keara Fontaine (Eastern Connecticut) - Freshman - North Kingstown, R.I.
Fontaine was the second freshman across the line and was the Warriors' second runner to finish at CCRI's Tri-State Championship, placing 12th overall among 73 finishers Saturday. She completed the 5K layout in 21:05. Eastern Connecticut notched a second-place finish among the seven scoring teams at the race.
