Men's Cross Country Athletes of the Week for September 16, 2019

Runner of the Week

Yahya Nure (Southern Maine) - Sophomore - South Portland, Maine
Nure picked up his second LEC Runner of the Week honor of 2019 after placing 11th overall at the Bates Invitational, which featured four of the region's top-eight programs – No. 4 Bates, No. 5 Middlebury, No. 7 Tufts and No. 8 Connecticut College. The sophomore covered the 8,000-meter Pineland Farms course in 26:37.3 to lead all USM runners, an improvement of nearly 22 seconds over last year.

Rookie of the Week

Jacob Gamache (Southern Maine) - Junior - Auburn, Maine
Gamache, who is in his first collegiate cross country season, finished 16th overall and was second among Southern Maine competitors at the Bates Invitational, covering the 8,000-meter Pineland Farms course in 26:49.7.
