PAWTUCKET, RI. – A trio of Little East Conference (LEC) women's volleyball standouts garnered postseason honors from the New England Women's Volleyball Association (NEWVA) for 2019.
Eastern Connecticut sophomore middle Anna Barry, the 2019 LEC Offensive Player of the Year, was named a second-team all-New England selection after being named an honorable mention All-Region selection by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA). She led the conference in hitting percentage (.361) in 2019, and finishing in the top-six in in kills per set (second, 3.46), kills (fourth, 322) and blocks per set (fifth, 0.72) and total blocks (sixth, 67) in her second collegiate season.
Keene State senior libero Olivia Mathieu, the LEC's 2019 Defensive Player of the Year, received honorable mention the to the All-New England Team. She led the LEC in both digs (659) and digs per set (5.99) in 2019 in her final collegiate season. Mathieu ranks 15th in NCAA Division III in digs per set and 19th in total digs.
Plymouth State freshman middle Emilee Flanagan earned all-rookie honors after being named a Second-Team all-LEC pick. She totaled 247 kills and 103 blocks while hitting .263 in her first collegiate season. Flanagan led the LEC in blocks and ranked sixth in hitting percentage.
