BOSTON, Mass. – After another standout year on the field, and in the classroom sophomore forward Grace McGettrick (Marshfield, Mass.) has been named a College Sports Information Director of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District honoree.
McGettrick becomes just the second player in program history and just the fifth student-athlete in UMass Boston history to earn a spot on the prestigious All-District team. The sophomore was the only player from the Little East Conference to be named to the team, and boasts the fourth highest GPA at an impressive 3.90.
A Nursing major, McGettrick is currently having the best statistical year in her young career on the harbor campus. Currently sitting with a team-leading 13 goals and 28 points, she played a major part in leading the Beacons to the Little East Conference Regular Season title, and the top-seed in this year's tournament.
With her selection to the First Team, McGettrick is now eligible for a spot on the CoSIDA All-America team, which if she is selected she would become just the second student-athlete to earn the honor behind two-time CoSIDA All-American Krista Ledin '14.
