Player of the Week

Jacobe Thomas (Southern Maine) - Sophomore – Guard - Houston, Texas
Thomas was named the LEC Men's Basketball Player of the Week after averaging 36 points, five rebounds and 2.5 steals per game while shooting 59 percent (28-48) from the field in a 1-1 week for the Huskies. He opened the week with a game-high 34 points with four rebounds in a 71-68 setback at Bates before pouring in a career-best 38 points with six boards, four steals and a pair of blocks in a 98-91 victory over St. Joseph's (Maine) to secure the Costello Cup for USM. The sophomore is second in the conference in scoring average (24 ppg), is fifth in steals (15), sixth in blocks (7) and 11th in rebounding (5.9 rpg)

Rookie of the Week

Shion Darby (Rhode Island College) - Freshman - Guard - Peekskill, N.Y.
Darby once again was named the LEC Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week after averaging 31.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 7.5 assists and two steals per game in a 2-0 week for the Anchormen. He dropped in 35 points with six rebounds, four assists two steals and two blocks in an 86-82 win at Bridgewater State before posting a double-double with 28 points and 11 assists in a 97-77 triumph over Regis. The freshman continues to lead the league in scoring (29.4 ppg) and assists (36); he is third in the nation in scoring average.
