Field Hockey Athletes of the Week for October 7, 2019

Offensive Player of the Week

Olivia Antonelli (Worcester State) - Senior - Forward - Westford, Mass.
Antonelli turned in a two-goal, four-assist week that powered the Lancers to a pair of LEC victories. She had a goal and three assists in a 4-2 win over Westfield State Tuesday, before scoring a goal and adding an assist in a 4-1 triumph over Fitchburg State Saturday. The senior leads the team and ranks third in the LEC in goals (11), assists (6) and points (28) this season. Antonelli currently sits at 128 points for her career, nine points behind recent former all-American and LEC Offensive Player of the Year Michaila Parent's all-time record of 137 points.

Defensive Player of the Week

Maggie Redman (Southern Maine) – Senior - Midfield - Alfred, Maine
Redman helped lead the Huskies' defense that allowed just one goal over a pair of LEC wins last week, including a 2-0 shutout of Salem State and a 4-1 win at Bridgewater State. She helped USM kill eight penalty corners over those games as the Huskies' flyer. The senior also made her presence felt at the other end of the field, assisting on the Huskies' game-winner against the Vikings and scoring a pair of goals in the victory over the Bears. Redman is currently third on the team in scoring with five goals and one assist for 11 points.  

Goalkeeper of the Week

Lindsay Pych (Southern Maine) - Sophomore - Morristown, N.J.
Pych backstopped the Huskies to a pair of Little East victories last week, posting a 0.50 goals against average and an .875 save percentage. She made five saves in a 2-0 shutout of Salem State, her third shutout of the season before making a pair of saves in the Huskies' 4-1 win at BSU. The sophomore is now 6-6 this season, leads the LEC in save percentage (.828), is fifth in saves (77) and fourth in goals against average (1.29).

Rookie of the Week

Mallory Weir (Framingham State) - Freshman - Forward - Bear, Del.
Weir scored her third and fourth goals of the season last week for the Rams. She contributed the team's lone goal in 3-1 setback to Western Connecticut and netted Framingham State's first goal in a 3-1 non-conference win over Rivier. The freshman's four goals and nine points are best on the team this season.
