PROVIDENCE, R.I. - A total of four Little East Conference (LEC) women’s volleyball programs - Plymouth State University, UMass Boston, University of Southern Maine and Western Connecticut State University - have been named recipients of the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award for the recently completed 2025-26 academic year. 

Teams must maintain a year-long grade-point average of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale (or 4.1 on a 5.0 scale), to earn the AVCA Team Academic Award. The program’s head coach must also be a dues-paying member of the AVCA. 

In total, 1,432 collegiate and high school volleyball teams were honored by the AVCA.
