GORHAM, Maine – Completing a phenomenal intercollegiate career as a member of the University of Southern Maine Huskies' baseball team, senior Kyle Douin (Augusta, Maine/Cony) can add the title of first team College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-American to an impressive list of both academic and athletic honors.
Now a three-time Academic All-American, Douin is earning first team honors for the first time following his selection to the 2026 Division III Academic All-America ® Baseball First Team as voted upon by members of the College Sports Communicators (CSC). Previously earning his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Douin is working towards his Master's degree in Leadership Studies.
Douin's 2026 selection the Academic All-America team is the 22nd citation in University of Southern Maine history. As one of just five first-team nods in Huskies' Athletics records, Douin joins an impressive list of USM student-athletes including 2026 WBCA All-American Jaycie Christopher (2026), NCAA National Champion (Javelin) Sophia Slovenski '23 (2023), wrestling national champion Daniel Del Gallo '17 (2017), and former two-time WBCA All-American Ashley Marble '07 (2007) on the short list of Huskies to earn first team Academic All-American honors.
The third member of the Huskies' baseball program to earn the title of Academic All-American joining Chris Bernard '14 (Second Team 2014), and Cam Seymour '24 (Second Team, 2021), Douin is the first USM baseball player to earn the award more than one with a pair of third team selections (2024, 2025).
