WE'RE HIRING: LEC Communications and Conference Membership Services Assistant 4/24/2026 11:24:04 AM The Little East Conference (LEC) is accepting applications for a two-year, entry-level appointment as Communications and Conference Membership Services Assistant. This is a two-year, 10-month position funded in part through the NCAA Division III Pathway to Excellence Grant program. Women and minority candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. This is a salaried position, with an annual salary of $30,000 in addition to full health and dental benefits. Stipends/reimbursements for professional development, technology and work-related travel will also be provided. Mentorship and performance review will be conducted on an ongoing basis. The Communications and Conference Membership Services Assistant will be actively involved in many aspects of the LEC’s operations, including communications and content creation, championship administration, LEC SAAC, compliance, administrative and sport governance, updating record books, and additional duties as assigned. The successful candidate will also be present at LEC championships, conference meetings (virtual and in-person), and assist in planning and facilitation of the annual LEC Student-Athlete Leadership Conference. The successful candidate will be required to live in the New England region, with proximity to Portland, Maine or Providence, Rhode Island preferred. This is a remote-work position, some in-person time may be feasible based on proximity to other LEC staff. The selected candidate will report directly to the LEC Associate Commissioner, with additional oversight from the LEC Commissioner. The successful candidate is required to attend an orientation session August 2-4, 2026 at the NCAA headquarters in Indianapolis. The approximate term for the position is mid-August through mid-June. Applicants must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a related field (sport management, communications, etc.) or equivalent experience working in athletics, with strong communication and interpersonal skills. The candidate must be available to work nights and weekends, and travel to LEC member institutions as required. Candidates with experience in athletic communications, event management, website management and/or as a Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) representative are preferred.
