Rogers Invitational hosted by Virginia Wesleyan, while taking second in the discus (32.29m) and fourth in the javelin (27.60m). She currently ranks 12th in NCAA Division III in the hammer and 23rd in the nation in the shot put to open the outdoor season. Track Athlete of the Week Quiana Pezza - Sophomore - Rhode Island College Pezza finished 41st in the 100-meter dash (12.55) and 26th in the 200-meter dash (25.53) at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Her 200 time ranks her 16th in NCAA Division III this season, while her 100 time is tied for 50th in the country. Rookie Field Athlete of the Week Elizabeth Fagundes - Freshman - UMass Dartmouth Fagundes placed seventh in the javelin at Wesleyan (Conn.) University’s J. Elmer Swanson Spring Classic Saturday. It is the top mark in the LEC to open the outdoor season. Rookie Track Athlete of the Week Naibel Noriega - Freshman - Rhode Island College Noriega finished 36th in the 200-meter dash (25.88) and 10th in the 400-meter dash (58.67) at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational. Her time in the 400 places her 19th in DIII this season, while her 200 time is tied for 34th in the country. Relay of the Week Rhode Island College Noriega, Bendu Kamara, Aaliyah Barbour-Chamble and Pezza combined to put up a pair of nationally-ranked performances at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational. Their fifth-place time of 4:01.81 ranks eighth in NCAA Division III this season, while their 12th-place time of 48.95 seconds in the 4x100 is 14th-best in the nation.
