Player of the Week

Yasmine Santos (Pawtucket, R.I.) - Graduate Student - Guard - UMass Dartmouth
Santos averaged 30 points and 12 rebounds per game over three contests for the Corsairs last week, shooting 49 percent (27-of-55) from the field and 70 percent (35-of-50) at the charity stripe. She opened the week pouring in a season-high 38 points on 57 percent (12-of-21) shooting from the floor to go with 17 boards at Eastern Connecticut before dropping in 29 points with 10 boards against UMass Boston. Santos capped the week tallying 23 points with nine rebounds and three steals in a 69-56 victory over WestConn.

Rookie of the Week

Maddie Topa (New Hartford, Conn.) - Freshman - Guard/Forward - Eastern Connecticut
Topa averaged 17.7 points and 6.3 rebounds per game in a 2-1 week in league play for the Warriors, with eight total assists and eight total steals. She shot 54.1 percent (20-of-37) from the floor and was 8-of-11 from the foul line. In a 79-71 home win over UMass Dartmouth, Topa had a season-high 20 points as well as adding seven rebounds, five assists and two steals. She was 8-of-13 from the floor, including 2-of-3 from distance, and 2-of-2 from the stripe. In a 73-55 win at Plymouth State, Topa had 19 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals without a turnover. The first-year contributed 14 points, six boards and four steals in a midweek 62-56 setback at Keene State.
