UMass Boston's Carey Named USILA Division III All-American

Boston, MA (May 22, 2025) --- The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) announced today that UMass Boston defenseman Patrick Carey (North Andover, Mass.) has been named to the 2025 USILA Division III All-American Team as an Honorable Mention selection. 

This marks the third consecutive season that Carey has earned All-American honors, highlighting his consistent excellence on the field. He is the only student-athlete from the Little East Conference to be recognized by the USILA this season. 

Carey concluded his senior campaign as the team leader in both ground balls (80) and caused turnovers (39), anchoring the Beacons' defensive unit. In addition to his defensive efforts, Carey contributed offensively with 8 goals and 4 assists for a total of 12 points, including the game-winning goal in a matchup against Pfeiffer. 

Across his four-year collegiate career, Carey was a model of durability and performance, starting all 76 games for UMass Boston. He finishes his career with 301 ground balls, 140 caused turnovers, and 48 points (24 goals, 24 assists).
