PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Little East Conference (LEC) announced its annual baseball major award recipients and all-conference teams Tuesday afternoon, following a vote of the league’s head coaches.
Player of the Year: Tommy Ahlers, Keene State
- Enters the 2025 NCAA Tournament with a .448 batting average, .706 slugging percentage, 73 hits, 13 doubles, four triples, seven homers, 49 RBI and 45 runs scored, while going 17-for-19 in stolen base attempts.
- Leads the LEC in batting average, slugging, OBPS (1.198, )hits, triples
- Is second in the LEC in on-base percentage (.492) and RBI, fourth in doubles, fifth in runs scored and home runs, and sixth in stolen bases.
Pitcher of the Year: Jake Jachym, Keene State
Enters the 2025 NCAA Tournament with a record of 6-1 in his 12 appearances (nine starts), sporting a 3.48 ERA over his 64.2 innings of work.
Leads the LEC in wins, innings pitched and walks allowed (five).
Ranks fourth in the LEC in ERA and is seventh in opponent batting average (.249).
Rookie of the Year: Jonny Pagano, UMass Boston
- Started in eight of his 10 appearances in his first collegiate season.
- Posted a record of 3-3 with a 5.71 ERA and 36 strikeouts over his 34.2 innings of work.
- Finished second on the Beacons’ staff in wins, third in innings pitched and fourth in strikeouts.
Coach of the Year: Justin Blood, Keene State
- Guided the Owls to an overall record of 25-15 so far this season
- Keene State captured its first LEC regular season title since 2010 with a 13-3 league record.
- The Owls captured their first LEC tournament championship since 2008, sweeping their way through the conference tournament.
