Swimmer of the Week

Boden Tito (Southington, Conn.) - Sophomore - Eastern Connecticut
In Eastern Connecticut’s 160.5-98.5 home-opening win over Husson University Saturday, Tito won the 200 butterfly (2:01.33) and 400 individual medley (4:24.32) and swam the butterfly leg of the winning 200 medley relay (1:42.16). He now has the top time in the 200 butterfly and 400 IM this season.

Diver of the Week

Oliver Cox (Washington, D.C.) - Senior - Maine Maritime
Cox was victorious on the one-meter board in the Mariners’ dual meet against Norwich, totaling 248.25 points. He then won the one-meter (214.00) and three-meter (247.05) events as Maine Maritime competed in a tri-meet with Bridgewater State and Division II Saint Michael’s. He now owns the top score in both events in the LEC this season.

Rookie Swimmer of the Week

Connor Hedstrom (Hope, Maine) - Freshman - Maine Maritime
Hedstrom was victorious in three individual events and one relay over two competitions last week. He was first to finish in the 50 freestyle (24.79) and 100 IM (54.71), and as a member of the 400 freestyle relay (3:27.11) in a dual meet against Norwich. In a tri-meet with Bridgewater State and Division II Saint Michael’s, Hedstrom was first in the 50 freestyle (22.07) and second in the 100 freestyle (49.20) while also competing with the third-place 200 medley relay (1:43.66) and 200 freestyle relay (1:41.70). The rookie has the time in the LEC in the 100 IM, and ranks second in the LEC in the 50 and 100 freestyle.
