Offensive Player of the Week

Sofia Schallmo (Norwood, Mass.) Sophomore - Forward - UMass Boston
Schallmo totaled three goals and two assists in a pair of critical LEC wins for the Beacons last week. She opened the week with an assist in a 3-0 win over Plymouth State before erupting for three goals and one helper in a 4-1 triumph over three-time defending LEC champion Southern Maine. UMass Boston is now in sixth-place in the league, one point ahead of Vermont State Castleton and just three back of second-place Keene State and WestConn.

Defensive Player of the Week

Elise Saab (Hookssett, N.H.) - Junior - Defense - Keene State
Saab played a full 90 minutes on defense in each of the Owls' 2-1 wins on the week. In KSC's win over Plymouth State, Saab was a large part of holding the Panthers to six shots in the matchup. Saab then tallied her first point of the season with an assist on the opening goal of the Owls win over WestConn. Keene State is the lone undefeated team in league play remaining this season (4-0-3) heading into its regular season finale Wednesday against VTSU Castleton.

Goalkeeper of the Week

Emma Ezzo (West Haven, Vt.) - Senior - VTSU Castleton
Ezzo made three starts across all three games for the Spartans this week, posting three shut outs as Vermont State Castleton went 3-0-0 on the week, where she combined for 15 saves. She made seven saves against Bard and then made six saves in the shutout over Rhode Island College to keep the seventh-place Spartans in the playoff hunt, just one point back of UMass Boston. Against Maine-Farmington she made two saves to grab her seventh win of the season, giving her 389 saves in her career to continue her record breaking performance in goal for the VTSU Castleton women's soccer program. 

Rookie of the Week

Janiya Matier (North Easton, Mass.) - Freshman - Goalkeeper - UMass Boston
Matier was 2-0-0 between the pipes for the Beacons, totaling 14 saves to just one goal against over 180 minutes. She racked up 10 saves in a 4-1 win over three-time defending LEC champion Southern Maine before having four stops in the 3-0 win over Plymouth State.
