Player of the Week

Haylie Peacock (West Gardiner, Maine) - Sophomore - Rhode Island College
Peacock posted a combined record of 4-0 at No. 1 doubles and No. 2 Singles, leading the Anchorwomen to a pair of conference wins last week that allowed them to secure the LEC regular season title and No. 1 Seed in next week’s LEC Women’s Tennis Championship Tournament with a perfect 8-0 league record. RIC blanked UMass Dartmouth before closing out the regular season with a 5-2 win over three-time defending LEC Champion UMass Boston. 

Peacock teamed with Erica Botelho for a pair of 6-1 doubles victories for the week. She went on to win 6-4, 6-0 in singles play against the Corsairs and 6-0, 6-2 against the Beacons. 

Rookie of the Week

Faith Owren (Richmond, R.I.) - Freshman - Rhode Island College
Owren was 2-0 at No. 5 singles and 1-1 playing alongside Addison Hadlock at No. 3 doubles for the Anchorwomen as they locked up their first LEC regular season title since 2021. She won a shutout decision in singles play against the Corsairs after dropping a 7-5 decision in doubles play. Owren capped the week with an 8-7 (7-4) doubles victory and a 6-2, 6-4 singles triumph against the Beacons.
