PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Little East Conference (LEC) announced its men's indoor track & field postseason honors. Major awards were determined by a vote of the LEC’s eight head coaches, while all-conference honors were determined by an individual’s finish at the LEC Indoor Championships, which were hosted by Southern Maine last week.
 
UMass Dartmouth junior Cameron Rodgers was named the 2022 LEC Field Athlete of the Year after winning a pair of conference titles, taking home gold medals in the high jump (1.95m) and long jump (6.82m). His season best high of 2.04 meters ranks 13th in Division III this season, while his season-best 6.94 meter mark in the long jump is 40th.
 
Plymouth State junior Michael Olson was named the 2022 LEC Track Athlete of the Year after he notched a pair of individual wins at the conference championships, taking home top honors in the mile (4:22.08) and 800 (1:59.87) before anchoring the winning 4x800 relay (8:15.23). Olson currently ranks 11th in New England in the 800 (1:56.81) and 24th in the mile (4:22.08).
 
Castleton freshman JaQuincy Bostick was named the 2022 LEC Rookie Field Athlete of the Year following his fourth-place showing in the long jump. His mark of 6.39 meters ranks 49th in New England. He also ranks 25th in the region in the triple jump (12.96m).
 
UMass Dartmouth freshman David Bennett was named the 2022 LEC Rookie Track Athlete of the Year after winning the conference title in the 200 (22.65), placing second in the 400 (51.78) and anchoring the LEC champion 4x400 relay (3:29.37). His 200 time is now eighth-best in New England.
 
UMass Dartmouth was named the Coaching Staff of the Year. Head coach Mike Salem and assistant coaches Ed Arcaro, Steve Gardnier and Jared Marshall guided the Corsairs to their second straight LEC indoor title last weekend, the fourth in program history.
