PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Little East Conference (LEC) announced its 2022 Women’s Volleyball Championship Tournament field following the conclusion of the regular season Saturday. Plymouth State University will be the No. 1 Seed in the six-team field after going 7-1 in league play during the regular season.
The Panthers also earned one of two First Round byes in the tournament, and will host the winner of Tuesday’s opening round match between fourth-seeded Western Connecticut State University and fifth-seeded Eastern Connecticut State University. The Wolves are the higher seed after defeating the Warriors in the regular season, 3-1.
Keene State College (6-2) earned the No. 2 Seed and the other First Round bye for next week after winning the tie-break with third-seeded UMass Dartmouth (6-2) with a 3-2 win over the Corsairs in the regular season. UMass Dartmouth will host an opening round match against sixth-seeded and defending LEC champion UMass Boston (3-5), with winner heading to Keene State Thursday.
