LEC Announces 2022 Women’s Soccer Championship Tournament Field, Southern Maine Claims No. 1 Seed

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Little East Conference (LEC) announced its 2022 Women’s Soccer Championship Tournament pairing Saturday, following the conclusion of the regular season. The University of Southern Maine earned the regular season title for the first time in program history after accumulating 21 points with a near-perfect 7-1-0 record in league play.
 
The Huskies also earned the No. 1 Seed and an opening round bye. They will host the winner of Tuesday’s First Round match between No. 4 Castleton University (13 points) and No. 5 Eastern Connecticut State University (12 points) in Thursday’s Semifinal Round.
 
Defending LEC champion Western Connecticut State University (19 points) earned the No. 2 Seed and the other First Round bye. They will host the winner of Tuesday other First Round match between No. 3 UMass Boston (15 points) and No. 6 Keene State College (nine points) in the semifinals.
