LEC Announces 2022 Men’s Soccer Championship Tournament Field, Nationally Ranked WestConn Earns No. 1 Seed

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Little East Conference (LEC) announced its 2022 Men’s Soccer Championship Tournament Field following the conclusion of the regular season Saturday. Western Connecticut State University, which is currently ranked No. 17 by D3soccer.com and No. 21 by the United Soccer Coaches, earned the No. 1 seed with an undefeated league record of 8-0-0.
 
WestConn (24 points) also earned an opening round bye for next week. The Wolves will host the winner of Tuesday’s First Round match between fourth-seeded Castleton University (10 points) and fifth-seeded Rhode Island College (nine points). The Anchormen defeated Keene State College (nine points) 2-0 today to win the head-to-head tiebreak.
 
UMass Boston earned the No. 2 Seed in next week’s championship with a 6-2-0 league record (18 points), and will host the winner of the First Round match between No. 3 Eastern Connecticut (18 points) and No. 6 Keene State. The Beacons defeated the Warriors, 3-1, to win the tie break and earn an opening round bye.
