Kelly Landry led the most successful four-year run in history of the Plymouth State University women’s volleyball team from 2002-05, during which the Panthers won their first two Little East Conference (LEC) regular season titles and to-date only LEC tournament championship. Plymouth State’s season continued beyond the LEC tournament in each of her four seasons.

The 2004 LEC Offensive Player of the Year was the third player in LEC history to be named an All-LEC selection in each of her four seasons, and was the first to do so as a four-time First Team All-LEC honoree. She was one of three freshmen to be named First-Team All-LEC as a freshman, a feat that had only been accomplished once prior to 2002.

The Panthers posted an overall record of 105-48 during Landry’s four seasons, including a 23-5 mark in conference play. She helped lead Plymouth State to an ECAC Division III New England title her freshman season, which was followed by a then-program record 29-win season in 2003 that saw PSU post runner-up finishes for the LEC regular season and tournament championships before advancing to the ECAC final for the second straight year.

Landry led the 2004 Plymouth State squad to an overall record of 28-12, the program’s first-ever LEC regular season championship, and what to date is the program’s only Little East tournament championship and NCAA Division III Championship Tournament appearance. The Panthers opened the LEC tournament with a 3-0 win over Keene State before defeating Western Connecticut 3-2 to advance to the title match, where PSU swept Eastern Connecticut to claim the LEC crown and its automatic berth in the NCAA tournament. Landry totaled program-record totals of 560 kills and 655 points while collecting 563 digs, the second-most in a season at PSU, on her way to being named LEC Offensive Player of the Year.

Landry’s name appears all over the Plymouth State record book. She finished her career as the Panthers’ all-time leader in kills (1,691) and digs (1,735) while ranking second in career points (1,969) and third in career aces; she remains in the top-10 in each category to this day. Her 560 kills as a junior are still the program’s standard. At the conclusion of her career, Landry was one of just 12 players in NCAA Division III history to record 1,600-plus career kills and digs.

Landry earned her bachelor’s degree in marketing from Plymouth State in 2006. She was inducted into the Plymouth State Athletic Hall of Fame in 2012.
