Becky (Landry) Campo was a dominant force in the middle for the Plymouth State University women’s volleyball team from 2000-03, during which time she rewrote the Panthers’ record books. She was named an All-Little East Conference (LEC) selection in each of her four seasons, and was a three-time LEC major award winner.
Campo was named the 2000 LEC Rookie of the Year and a Second-Team All-LEC selection as a freshman, and was named Second-Team All-LEC again as a sophomore. Her junior and senior years saw the awards continue to roll in as she was named the LEC Offensive Player of the Year and a First Team All-LEC selection in each of her final two collegiate seasons.
Campo was the first player in conference history to earn both LEC Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year honors during her career, and was one of the first two players to be named a four-time All-LEC selection with her First Team nod in 2003. In addition to her many LEC honors, Campo became the first-ever Plymouth State player in the program’s then eight-year history to earn All-New England honors with her Second Team selection in 2003 by the New England Women’s Volleyball Association. The Panthers posted an overall record of 93-45 during Campo’s four seasons, which included a 21-7 mark in conference play. Plymouth State appeared in the LEC semifinals each season, and played for the conference tournament championship in Campo’s senior campaign. The Panthers won the ECAC Division III New England Championship Tournament in their first-ever ECAC appearance in 2002, and were the tournament runner-up the following year.
At the conclusion of her career, Campo held almost every offensive career, single-season and single-match record at Plymouth State.
