Jason D. Edwards is one of the most decorated track & field athletes in Eastern Connecticut State University and Little East Conference (LEC) history. The four-time NCAA Division III All-American earned each of his four certificates in the long jump. He was the outdoor national runner-up in 1999, recorded a third-place finish at the NCAA indoor championships and a sixth-place finish at the NCAA outdoor championship in 2000, and placed fourth at the 2002 indoor nationals.
 
Edwards won a combined 20 LEC individual championships, including a perfect eight of a possible eight titles in the long jump during his four seasons. Edwards holds the LEC indoor and outdoor championship record in the long jump to this day. His outdoor record of 7.55 meters was set as a sophomore in 1999, while his indoor record mark of 7.21 meters was set in 2000.
 
In addition to his LEC and NCAA accolades, Edwards was a five-time New England champion and 10-time New England Alliance winner in the long jump and the 100- and 200-meter dash. He was all-New England and all-ECAC a combined 21 times in those events.
 
Edwards remains Eastern Connecticut’s program record holder in four individual events. He holds the individual records in the indoor 200 (22.19), outdoor 200 (21.74), indoor long jump (7.46m) and outdoor long jump (7.68m). Edwards is also a member of the program record indoor spring medley relay team (3:52.68).
