Hall of Fame
Robin (Dziedzic) Drew is one of the most decorated field hockey players in UMass Dartmouth history, having been named the LEC Rookie of the Year in 2002 and capping her collegiate career as the Little East Offensive Player of the Year in 2006.
In addition to her major award wins, Drew was named a First Team All-LEC performer her junior and senior years, seasons that also saw her named a First Team All-region selection by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA). She was the first player in program history to earn NFHCA All-Region honors.
Drew went on to become the first NFHCA All-America selection in Corsairs’ history, earning Third Team All-America honors as a senior in 2006. That season saw her lead the league in scoring with 16 goals and a league-best 14 assists for a LEC-best 46 total points; her 16 goals tied her for second in the conference.
The 2006 campaign was a historic one for UMass Dartmouth, as the team won a program-record 17 games on its way to the first LEC tournament championship final appearance in program history as the No. 2 seed. Drew found the back of the cage in the Corsairs’ 3-2 overtime over seventh-seeded Fitchburg State in the team’s tournament opener, and scored both UMass Dartmouth goals in a 2-1 double-overtime triumph over third-seeded Southern Maine in the semifinals. Drew’s fourth tally of the tournament came in the Corsair’s 2-1 setback at top-seeded Keene State in the tournament final.
Drew concluded her career in a Corsair uniform with 28 goals and 25 assists for 81 points while playing in 59 games over three seasons.
A native of Palmer, Massachusetts, Drew earned her bachelor’s degree from UMass Dartmouth in Graphic Design in 2007. She was inducted into the UMass Dartmouth Corsair Hall of Fame in 2012.
