Dr. C. Robert "Bob" Miller totaled 332 victories and a .690 winning percentage during his 19 seasons (1974-93) guiding the Eastern Connecticut women’s basketball program. He led the Warriors to 16 postseason tournament appearances, including their first six NCAA Division III Tournament appearances which included back-to-back Final Four appearances in 1991 and 1992.
Eastern played for the LEC tournament title in each of the league’s first seven seasons, culminating with the 1991 LEC crown. His 1990-91 squad was named the Eastern College Athletic Conference Team of the Year following its third-place finish in the NCAA tournament.
Off the court, Miller was a professor of health and physical education at Eastern and was a founding member of the New England Women’s Basketball Association (NEWBA), serving as the organization’s first president. He was named the 1990-91 NEWBA and WBCA Northeast Region Coach of the Year, and was inducted into the Connecticut Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame in 1995.
Miller retired as the winningest Division III women’s basketball coach in New England history, and was ranked fourth among all active Division III coaches.
