Judy Izzo was key to the early success of the Keene State College women’s basketball program as the Owls transitioned from Division II to Division III in the late 1990s, earning all-Little East Conference (LEC) honors in each of her two seasons.

Izzo was an All-LEC Honorable Mention choice as a junior, as she averaged 15.5 points and 5.2 rebounds per game while totaling 69 steals and was named First Team All-LEC as a senior, averaging 16.8 points and 6.7 rebounds per game while totaling 62 steals. She led Keene State to its first-ever LEC tournament win as the sixth-seeded Owls stunned third-seeded Eastern Connecticut State University 54-51 in the 1999 conference quarterfinals. Keene State nearly upset second-seeded Western Connecticut State University in the semifinals, falling 44-38.

Izzo converted a then-program record 339 free throws during her career, a total that ranks second today, while also finishing her career ranked among the program’s all-time leaders in a number of career categories, including steals (205 - second), points (1,321 - fourth), scoring average (14.1 ppg - fifth), made field goals (461 - seventh). She still ranks in the top-10 over 20 years following the conclusion of her playing career.

Izzo earned her bachelor’s degree in safety studies from Keene State in 1999. She became the first women's basketball player from the Owls’ Division III era to be inducted into the KSC Hall of Fame in 2021, and is the program’s first-ever inductee into the LEC Hall of Fame.
