Bryan Biederman led a defensive unit that was the hallmark of the Plymouth State University men’s soccer team from 2003-06, helping lead the Panthers to a pair of Little East Conference (LEC) regular season championships (2003, 2006).
The Holderness, New Hampshire native was a three-time First Team All LEC selection, and was named the 2005 LEC Defensive Player of the Year after leading a backline that allowed just 21 goals in 20 games while recording seven shutouts. His junior season also saw him earn All-Region honors from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) for the first time in his career as a Second Team selection.
Plymouth State captured its second LEC regular season title during Biederman’s tenure in 2006, and advanced to the LEC tournament final for the first time in five years. The back would be named First Team All-LEC for the third consecutive season, and was named Third Team All-Region by the NSCAA and D3kicks.com. He also earned a spot in the New England Senior All-Star Game.
The Panthers posted an overall record of 43-23-10 with 29 shutouts during Biederman’s four-year career, which saw him start in all 76 games. Plymouth State earned a berth in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championship Tournament in each of Biederman’s four seasons, advancing to the semifinals in 2003 and 2005.
Biederman earned his bachelor’s degree in graphic design from Plymouth State in 2007, and was inducted into the Plymouth State Athletics Hall of Fame in 2016.
