Tyler Delorme was a three-time All-Little East Conference (LEC) and American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) All-Region selection, and a two-time ABCA All-American for the University of Southern Maine baseball team from 2000-03, helping lead the Huskies to a pair NCAA Division III regional championships.
Delorme got off to a fast start in his collegiate career, starting all but one of his 44 games played in the outfield as a freshman in 2000 and batting .397 with 69 hits, 12 doubles, three triple, eight homers, 57 RBI and 42 runs scored. That line led to him being voted a Third Team ABCA All-American following First Team All-LEC and First Team All-Region honors. The Huskies won the DIII New England Regional with an undefeated record, with Delorme being named the regional’s Most Outstanding Player, on their way to a berth in the Division III College World Series.
The Enosburg Falls, Vermont native helped lead Southern Maine to another NCAA regional title and College World Series berth the following year as a sophomore, which was the most decorated of his career after he batted .393 while piling up career-best totals of 83 hits, 15 doubles, 10 home runs, 66 RBI, 64 runs scored and 16 stolen bases. Delorme was named the 2001 LEC Player of the Year, repeated as a First Team All-LEC and First Team ABCA All-Region pick, and was named a Second Team ABCA All-American.
Delorme was named First Team All-LEC for the third time and was a Third Team ABCA All-region honoree as a junior after batting .389 with 63 hits, nine doubles, five homers, 36 RBI and 31 runs scored. He finished his career with a .380 batting average and career totals of 273 hits, 31 doubles, 24 home runs, 193 RBI, 165 RBI and 47 stolen bases.
Delorme’s name appears over 20 times on the program’s single-season and career record lists. At the conclusion of his time in Gorham, he held the program’s career records for hits, RBI, total bases (406) and at bats (719), and held the single-season marks for at bats (211) and games played (51). His 193 career RBI and 406 career total bases are still the standard to this day.
Delorme earned his bachelor’s degree from Southern Maine in 2004, and was inducted into Southern Maine’s Husky Hall of Fame in 2014.
