Courtney Albert Baugher is one of the most decorated players in the history of the Plymouth State University women’s basketball program, and led the Panthers to the most successful four-year run in program history.
The 1999-2000 Little East Conference (LEC) Rookie of the Year was a three-time First Team All-Conference selection and was later named to the LEC’s 25th Anniversary All-Star Team. She led the team in scoring in three of her four seasons, and to-date remains the Panthers’ all-time leading scorer with 1,711 career points. She also holds the program records for field goals made in a career (667) and in a single season (206 in 2002-03).
In addition to her LEC honors, Albert was named an all-region selection by the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC), New England Women’s Basketball Association and D3hoops.com her junior and senior years. She received honorable mention to the 2002-03 Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) All-America Team after averaging 16.6 points and 8.3 rebounds per game, and totaling 78 assists and 56 steals in her final collegiate campaign. Her combined efforts on the court and in the classroom earned her First Team Academic All-District honors from the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Plymouth State won 20 or more games in each of her four seasons, posting an overall record of 84-33 while making a pair of LEC championship final appearances. PSU won a program-record 23 games her senior campaign, which culminated with the program’s second consecutive ECAC title. The Panthers qualified for the ECAC tournament in each of her four seasons.
Albert earned her bachelor’s degree in physical education from Plymouth State in 2003. She was inducted into the Plymouth State Athletic Hall of Fame in 2008, her first year of eligibility, and was inducted into the New England Basketball Hall of Fame in 2015.
