Are there any community service activities you've enjoyed being involved in
Growing up my family and I would have our Thanksgiving meals at a senior meal site in our town. We would help with the food prep, serving, and go out delivering meals to those who couldn't make it out of their homes. Seeing the sense of community created by friends and strangers alike was really amazing. This experience made me value a sense of tight knit community that I have found here at University of Southern Maine and in the Little East Conference.
Are you involved in any clubs/organizations on campus outside of athletics?
I just joined the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee this year and have loved being a part of a group that is working towards improving our community here at USM. I am also a photographer for the school newspaper, The Free Press. Getting to work with teams and people around campus to highlight their stories has been a great experience.
Any fun facts you're willing to share about yourself?
My disc golf stats speak for themselves.
What were you able to do that helped you get through the quarantine period earlier this year?
Having to stay home for months was a very difficult task, however, living in a rural part of Vermont made it very easy to get outside a lot and not be stuck in the house. I spent a lot of time hiking and biking around my hometown, which was a great way to exercise and explore places I had not been to.
What are your career plans after college?
I’m not entirely sure what I want to do other than travel. I'm hoping to find a job in a place with lots of hiking, biking, and other outdoor activities so I can stay fit and enjoy the outdoors. Eventually I would like to start a marketing business in my community and offer inexpensive services, and have opportunities for students to be involved and gain real world experience all while helping local businesses grow.
