Keene State’s Rachel Lamica Named All-American by AVCA, First in Program History

2017 AVCA All-America Team | Keene State Release

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Keene State College senior outside hitter Rachel Lamica (Malone, N.Y.) received Honorable Mention to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) NCAA Division III All-America Team, making her the first AVCA All-American in program history. 

Lamica, who was a Second-Team AVCA All-Region and First-Team All-Little East Conference (LEC) selection in 2017, appeared in all 30 matches during her final collegiate season. She totaled 456 kills, 237 digs, 43 service aces and 42 blocks while earning LEC Player of the Week honors on five occasions.

The marks the seventh AVCA All-America selection for a LEC student-athlete, with each of the previous six hailing from UMass Boston.
