UMass Boston Seeded Sixth in NCAA Women’s Volleyball New England Regional, Draws No. 3 Tufts in First Round

INDIANAPOLIS – 2017 Little East Conference Women's Volleyball Champion UMass Boston (15-15) is seeded sixth in the 2017 NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Championship Tournament New England Regional, and take on third-seeded Tufts University (22-6) in the quarterfinal round Friday at 12:30 p.m. Top-seeded Johnson & Wales University (R.I.) will host the regional November 10-12.

Ticket prices for this year's tournament are $6 for adults, $4 for seniors and students, $3 for children (12-under) and children under two are free.  Ticket sales are cash only and can be purchased the day of the game at the Wildcat Center. Fans unable to attend can access live video and live stats of via UMass Boston's website.

The Beacons received the Little East Conference's automatic berth in the NCAA tournament after defeating Keene State College for the conference title Saturday. The Jumbos received an at-large bid after falling to Wesleyan College (Conn.) in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) final, 3-1.

Friday's winner will face the winner of the quarterfinal match between second-seeded Massachusetts Institute of Technology (28-2) and seventh-seeded Maine Maritime Academy (20-12) in Saturday's semifinals. The remaining regional quarterfinal pairings featured the top-seeded Wildcats (32-0) against Elms College (19-9) and fourth-seeded Wesleyan (21-5) versus fifth-seeded Wellesley (22-6)

The eight regional winners will head to Grand Rapids, Michigan, which will host the national quarterfinals, semifinals and title match November 16-18.
