The host Warriors (18-8) battled to a 28-26 win in the opening game before cruising to 25-14 and25-12 wins in the second and third game to sweep the visiting Huskies (20-10).

Eastern Connecticut was led offensively by freshman Abby Stren's (Manchester, Conn.) match-high 14 kills; she hit .355 on her 31 attempts. Freshman Alaetra Long (Lincoln, Neb.) posted a double-double with 11 kills and 12 digs, while senior Carly Balskus (Hebron, Conn.) shipped in with nine kills. Senior Michelle Valliere (Lebanon, Conn.) led the Warriors with a match-high 23 digs.

Senior Jess Williamson (Goffstown, N.H.) led Southern Maine with 10 kills, while Sophomore Faolain Harrington (Auburn, N.H.) hit .467 with seven kills on her 15 attempts. Junior Nicole Schmitz (St. Paul, Minn.) had a match-high 24 assists.

The Warriors will next travel to second-seeded Keene State for Thursday night's semifinal match.

The host Panthers (19-10) appeared to be well on their way to an opening round sweep after taking the first two games by scores of 25-15 and 25-17, but struggled to maintain that momentum and the visiting Colonials (8-21) took advantage, winning the third game 25-22. The two teams went back and forth throughout the fourth game, which saw Plymouth State come out on top 25-22 to take the match.

Senior Claire Sporer (Medford, Ore.) posted a double-double with a team-best 15 kills and 11 digs, while sophomore Alexis Bowers (Port St. Lucie, Fla.) notched a double-double of her own with 11 kills and 13 digs. Senior Megan Bailey (Canterbury, N.H.) handed out 38 assists to go with a 19 digs, and classmate Brenna Peruch (Cave Creek, Ariz.) registered a match-high 33 digs.

Junior Kamari King (East Hartford, Conn.) put down a match-high 20 kills to go along with a team-best 18 digs to lead Western Connecticut. Freshman Nicolina Chenard (Ardsley, N.Y.) was second on the team with seven kills, while junior Jenna Skerritt (Wolcott, Conn.) totaled 37 assists and 16 digs.

The Panthers will next travel to top-seeded UMass Boston for Thursday night's semifinal match.
