PAWTUCKET, R.I. – UMass Boston will be the No. 1 seed in the 2017 Little East Conference Women's Volleyball Championship Tournament after going 6-1 in conference play during the regular season. The Beacons owned the tiebreaker with second-seeded Keene State College, which earned a share of the LEC regular season title with UMass Boston after also going 6-1 in LEC regular season matches.
As the top two seeds, UMass Boston and Keene State receive a first round bye and will host Thursday's semifinal matches.
Tuesday's first round matches will see third-seeded Eastern Connecticut hosting sixth-seeded University of Southern Maine and fourth-seeded Plymouth State University hosting fifth-seeded Western Connecticut State University. The winner of the Plymouth State- Western Connecticut match will advance to face UMass Boston, while the winner of the Eastern Connecticut-Southern Maine match advances to face Keene State.
The winner of the 2017 LEC Women's Volleyball Championship Tournament will receive the league's automatic berth in the 2017 NCAA Division III Championship Tournament.
