Warrior boss Greg DeVito was tabbed the Coach of the Year to cap the annual major awards program.

MLS’s Seitz At Eastern Dec. 10 To Promote Bone Marrow Drive
WILLIMANTIC, Conn. -- In 2005, Chris Seitz was the starting goal keeper for the University of Maryland, and became the first freshman goal keeper to lead his team to the College Cup Title in 15 years. He stopped three shots in the Division I NCAA championship game against New Mexico, including an important penalty shot in the 50th minute of the game en route to a 1-0 win. At that point in his life, saving that penalty shot and preserving the win for his team was Seitz’s biggest save of his life.

Silverman and Conran Follow Fathers To Keene State
KEENE, N.H. – The phone rings in Coach Ron Butcher’s office all the time. Often, it's alums and former players at the end of the line, looking to catch up with the Owls’ long-time men’s soccer coach or just go down memory lane. Like many former players, Mike Silverman ’79, an All-American during the Owls' NAIA days, keeps in touch with Butcher and still follows the team. WILLIMANTIC, Conn. – The unbeaten Eastern Connecticut State University soccer teams are rising in the early-season NCAA Division III national and New England regional rankings. On the strength of two road wins last week, the men (4-0-0) moved into the NSCAA national rankings at No. 16, and jumped two spots to No. 2 in the New England rating. After winning and tying this past weekend, the women (3-0-1) also elevated their regional standing two spots, to No. 6.

Owls and Warriors Sit Atop Little East Men's Soccer Preseason Poll
NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. –Eastern Connecticut State University and Keene State College share the top spot in the annual Little East men’s soccer preseason coaches’ poll for the second time in the past three years. The Warriors and Owls are projected to once again finish tied atop the conference standings with each team receiving three first-place votes and 54 total points. According to the coaches, Rhode Island College will be in the regular-season title hunt after entering the preseason survey just two points shy of the favorites. The Anchormen claimed the final two first-place tallies.

Musto Plays It Safe This Summer
KEENE, N.H.– When Rob Musto reunites with his Keene State men’s soccer teammates in a few weeks for preseason camp, it’s a good bet that the initial conversation will be about how the players spent their summer. WILLIMANTIC, Conn. - Eastern Connecticut is competing in postseason tournament play for the third time in as many years under third-year head coach Greg DeVito. It is the Warriors' second NCAA showing in the last three years, and 15th tournament appearance in program history. In DeVito's first year in 2007, Eastern won its first conference playoff title and was eliminated in its first-ever NCAA tournament game, 2-0, by Williams.

PLYMOUTH, N.H. – The Plymouth State University men’s soccer team returns to the postseason for the first time in three years this week when the Panthers host Daniel Webster College Wednesday in an Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) New England Tournament first-round game. Fantl Nets 100th Career Point in Win Over Rhode Island College
MANSFIELD, Conn. - On Seniors' Day, senior Maxim Fantl (West Hartford, Conn.) recorded his 100th career point and senior Nicholas Boretti (Marshfield, Mass.) totaled a career-high five points to lift men's soccer to a key 3-1 Little East Conference win over Rhode Island College Sunday afternoon at the Mansfield Outdoor Complex. Warriors Ranked No. 13 In NSCAA Men's Soccer Coaches' Poll
WILLIMANTIC, Conn. – The Eastern Connecticut State University men’s soccer team equaled its highest national ranking ever when it moved up three spots to No. 13 in the third weekly NSCAA Division III national ranking, released Tuesday. Eastern Connecticut Predicted As Little East Men's Soccer Favorite
NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. –For the first time in program history, Eastern Connecticut State University has been predicted to capture the Little East Conference men’s soccer championship outright after each of the eight head coaches casted a vote in the annual preseason poll. In 2008, the Warriors shared the top preseason billing with Keene State College. Eastern Connecticut and Rhode Island College each finished in the top three on all eight ballots, but the Warriors earned three first-place votes and 57 total points to edge the Anchormen.

WILLIMANTIC, Conn. – Tom Nevers, the winningest soccer coach in the 48-year history of the Eastern Connecticut State University men’s soccer program, has been selected to receive a Gold Key by the Connecticut Sports Writers’ Alliance. Joining Nevers as a Gold Key recipient are: Dr. Ray Cieplik, Coast Guard Academy athletic director and a former men’s soccer coach; Brian Leetch, former NHL defensemen with the New York Rangers; and Stan Ogrodnik, former Trinity College men’s basketball coach.

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. - The top assistant coach on the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth men's soccer staff is the Corsairs' new head coach. Henry Almeida, who served as an assistant coach under former head coach Ray Cabral in each of the past two seasons, has been named head coach. Cabral resigned in June to accept positions as the production manager for Yard Boss, a landscape design company, and as the director of coaching and player development for Cape Cod Reunited, which a member of the Massachusetts Premier League.
