Western Connecticut Falls at Brandeis in NCAA Men’s Soccer Tournament

WALTHAM, Mass. – The Western Connecticut State University men's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision at Brandeis University Saturday in the first round of the 2017 NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Championship Tournament Saturday evening.

Senior Mike Lynch (Weymouth, Mass.) opened the scoring 15 minutes into the match, and that score held until the 65th minute when sophomore Dylan Hennessy (New York, N.Y.) found the back of the net for the host Judges. Junior Andrew Allen (Norfolk, Mass.) capped the scoring in the 72nd minute.

Senior Ben Woodhouse (Suffield, Conn.) stopped the two shots on goal he faced to record the win in goal for Brandeis, which outshot the Colonials 15-9 and had a 7-4 advantage on corner kicks.

Junior Luca Dicarlo (Waterbury, Conn.) had one save and allowed on goal in the first half for Western Connecticut (14-7-1), while freshman Daniel Szabo (Trumbull, Conn.) allowed two goals in the second.
