PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Ty Nichols (Springfield, Mass.), Junior, Forward, Keene State

Nichols averaged 22.7 points per game while shooting 65.8 percent from the field 3-0 week for the Owls. He led all players with 23 points to go along with five rebounds, six assists and five steals in a 73-62 win over Lasell to open the week, and then tallied 27 points on 10-of-14 shooting from the floor (3-of-4 from three) in a 100-88 win at Colby-Sawyer, in which he also had six rebounds, nine assists, two steals and two blocks. Nichols finished off the week by scoring a game-high 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting from the field (4-of-5 from three) to go with four rebounds, four assists and two steals in the Owls' conference-opening 85-45 win over UMass Boston.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK - Jake Ashworth (Fairhaven, Mass.), Freshman, Guard, UMass Dartmouth

Ashworth was named LEC Rookie of the Week for the second time this season after averaging 16 points, 2.3 rebounds and two assists per game in a 3-0 week for the Corsairs. He scored a game and career-high 25 points in Thursday's 95-74 win over Bridgewater State, shooting 9-for-14 from the field while going 5-of-8 from beyond the arc after scoring 10 points with three assists and two steals in a 76-70 win over Brandeis. Ashworth capped the week by scoring 13 points on 5-of-10 shooting from the floor with three threes in a 93-63 conference-opening win over Plymouth State.
