Plymouth State’s McPherson Named to Synapse Sports Honor Roll

PAWTUCKET, R.I. – Plymouth State sophomore back Kate McPherson (Conway, N.H.) was named to this week's Synapse Sport NCAA Division III Field Hockey Honor Roll for her efforts in leading the Panthers (8-2, 6-1 LEC) to a pair of Little East Conference victories last week.

McPherson anchored a defense that recorded a pair of shutouts, while scoring a pair of goals on the offensive end of the field. The reigning LEC Defensive Player of the Week scored the game's lone goal in a 1-0 win over Southern Maine and then scored on a stroke in a 4-0 win at Western Connecticut.

This marks the second consecutive week a Little East student-athlete was recognized by Synapse Sports; Worcester State junior forward Michaila Parent (Westborough, Mass.) was named to the Honor Roll September 26 after being named the LEC Offensive Player of the Week.
